CAPT. PATRICK MURPHY HAS REJOINED SUNRISE AVIATION
Ormond Beach, FL – July 11, 2017 – Capt. Patrick Murphy has rejoined Sunrise Aviation effective July 5th, 2017. Capt. Murphy most recently was General Manager at the second largest flying school in India. Prior to spending 3 years in India, Capt. Murphy was Director of Training at Sunrise Aviation from 2009 to 2014. During his previous time at Sunrise Aviation, he was instrumental in rewriting the Sunrise curriculum and in establishing the Sunrise Aviation satellite base in Jacksonville. Capt. Murphy was leader of the Sunrise team that successfully bid to become the exclusive flight training provider for FSCJ (Florida State College at Jacksonville) based at Cecil Airport in Jacksonville, Florida.
Capt. Murphy has extensive experience in international flight training including overseas experience in China, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand, in addition to India. Capt. Murphy has 38 years of aviation experience including nearly 10,000 hours of logged flight time. He has experience at several aviation universities in the USA and has over 20 years of experience as a university teacher. Capt. Murphy was a pilot for a USA regional airline and is still an active pilot and flight instructor.
At Sunrise Aviation, Capt. Murphy will serve as Senior Consultant helping manage the continuing growth of Sunrise Aviation, Sunrise Flight Academy, and the Sunrise Aviation air charter division. Sunrise Aviation now has over 100 aircraft located at its 3 bases: Ormond Beach, Lakeland, and Jacksonville.
Sunrise Aviation has been in operation since 1983. Sunrise Aviation is the exclusive flight training provider for Florida State College at Jacksonville and Polk State College in Lakeland, Florida. Sunrise Aviation is approved to issue I-20 forms to non-immigrant students seeking pilot training. Sunrise Aviation has enrolled over 1,000 foreign students seeking accelerated pilot training for the commercial pilot license. Most of these Sunrise Aviation graduates are now flying for airlines and flight schools worldwide. For students wanting to acquire aviation degrees, both Polk State College and Florida State College at Jacksonville are approved for enrollment by international students including those seeking pilot certificates in addition to their college degrees.
