About Sunrise Aviation Flight School – Pilot Training and Flight Instruction

Sunrise Aviation in Ormond Beach Florida, has been in operation continuously since 1983. We are located at Ormond Beach Municipal Airport in Central Florida just 7 miles north of Daytona Beach and only an hour’s drive from Orlando.

Sunrise Aviation has trained pilots from all over the world during the past 26 years. We pride ourselves on providing quality flight instruction while giving each student individual attention. While holding our students and instructors to the highest safety standards, we finish our students on-time and within budget. To accomplish this, we maintain a low student to instructor ratio and as many aircraft as necessary to complete your training as promised. The exceptional flying weather in Central Florida permits VFR flying more than 350 days each year. Accelerated flight training is just a small part of the Sunrise package!

Sunrise Aviation owns and maintains its own fleet of aircraft. We have the largest fleet of Cessna 152s in Florida. Since we are also a full-service FBO, our aircraft are fueled by our own staff and available for flight when you need them. Our well-trained and certified staff of aviation maintenance technicians is on duty constantly to keep your aircraft safe and ready to fly at your convenience.

Sunrise Aviation is approved by the FAA to offer training under Part 141 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. However, we hold the needs of the student as paramount and also offer training under the flexibility of Part 61 as well.

Sunrise Aviation is approved by the US Department of Homeland Security to accept foreign students for flight training. We provide all the forms and assistance necessary for international students to receive the M-1 visa and travel to the USA for that training.

Sunrise Aviation professional pilot packages include the medical exam, written tests, and flight exams. There are no hidden fees or extras in our commercial pilot training packages. We make all the arrangements in advance so that you do not need to wait. Sunrise Aviation fulfills the personal needs of the students as well. We offer training programs that include housing and transportation, or will help students make those arrangements on their own.

Sunrise Aviation now offers training in Technically Advanced Aircraft and simulators with glass-cockpits. We will also tailor any of our flight training packages to meet your specific needs. Primary instruction is conducted in Cessna 152s and Cessna 172s. Multi-engine instruction is completed in either the Piper Seminole or Piper Seneca. Click here to learn more about our fleet.

For many years Sunrise Aviation has trained international students seeking professional pilot training in preparation for a career as an airline pilot. We have specialized programs to meet the needs of students from many countries including India and Saudi Arabia. Our India programs meet the requirements of DGCA. Our Saudi Arabian programs not only meet the requirements of GACA but also the entry requirements of Saudi Arabian Airlines. Students at Sunrise Aviation are from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the USA. Our standard of instruction meets the needs of international airline pilot training.

When you are not at the airport, Sunrise Aviation is close to many local attractions. The Atlantic Ocean and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world are just a few miles away. Daytona Beach which hosts NASCAR stockcar races, motorcycle events, Spring Break, and dozens of other yearly events is only a 10 minute drive south. The Kennedy Space Center and Orlando theme park attractions like Disney World, Sea World, and Universal are just an hour away by car. If you are seeking a glimpse of Florida’s past, St. Augustine, site of the first European settlement in North America, is also less than an hour away by car.
